Yorkshire Status: Rare wanderer and probable future colonist.

This species whose larvae feed on evergreen oak, appeared in the Channel Islands in 1991 and then on the Isle of Wight in 1999. It has steadily moved north since then, and it is no surprise that it has now reached Yorkshire. Our first record came from Kilnsea (Spurn) on 27/10/2023. It's rate of spread will be limited by the availability of evergreen oak which is much less common here than it is to our south.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
