Yorkshire Status: Rare migrant and possible recent colonist.

This species has always been considered to be a rare migrant in Yorkshire. The first county record was on 12/9/2002 at Rudston. The second was at Spurn in 2009, but from 2018 it started turning up on a more regular basis at Austerfield in the south-east of VC63. In 2022, there was a quite remarkable set of records here on 15 dates, all attracted to the pheromone lure for Ni Moth. In 2023 there were more records here, along with three records from West Melton and one in VC61 at North Ferriby. There can be little doubt that it is now breeding in the south-east of Yorkshire, and records on 17th May and 1st June are the first indications of an early brood. It is now well established in several counties to our south and south-east.
