Yorkshire Status: Common and fairly widespread resident.

Small Fan-foot is a little less common than Fan-foot - we receive less than half the number of records. It is still however a common moth across most of the county. Like its cousin, it is a moth of broad-leaved woodland which also wanders to gardens and other habitats. It usually occurs in fairly small numbers though it can be common at some sites eg 26 at Hackfall Woods on 9/7/2010. It is curious that Sutton and Beaumont described it as the commoner of the two species in 1989. Numbers seem to be stable in Yorkshire.
