Yorkshire Status: Very rare and very local. No recent record.

Pheromone lure: TIP. Alders and Birch in damp woodland, and heaths, mid May and early July. A very rapid flier, difficult to see well.

Last recorded 1894. With no recent records north of the Midlands, this species is unlikely to reappear, but the recent increased use of pheromone lures can lead to some surprising results at times! The main areas where this species can be currently found include the Norfolk Broads, Thames Basin and on the England/Wales border.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Not recorded since Porritt (1904) when it had only recently been found at Bishop Wood near Selby (VC64) on 1.7.1894, although there was also an older record from York, but the habitat had since been destroyed (Porritt, 1883-86). Baker (MBGBI 2), says it is found north to Yorkshire, and a VC64 record is shown on map 199. However these almost certainly refer to the records from the last century.
