Yorkshire Status: Fairly common and thinly distributed or restricted resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There has been a dramatic range extension from the south-east since the early 1970s, Wass (VC62) being the furthest north so far and Elmley (VC63) and Markington (VC64) the furthest west.

2012 (CHF): There has been a slow contraction in range and numbers in the last few years with a retreat to the south and east.
