Yorkshire Status: Adventive

This spectacular species is Europe's largest moth and consequently is often bred by livestock dealers. It is not resident in the UK so is classed as an adventive on the rare occasions it turns up here. One was found on a house door in Sowerby Bridge on 24/4/2014. Its origin remains a mystery.
