Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and fairly widespread resident.

A beautiful and unmistakable species of light woodland where the larvae feed on bramble. This moth is widespread across the county, especially in lowland areas. It is generally single-brooded however sometimes in hot summers such as 2022 second brood moths appear in August and September

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Scattered widely across all five vice-counties, this beautiful moth is more attracted to sugar than light and is generally only recorded as frequent in central and eastern areas.
