Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are no recent records for this species. It was recorded several times from the Haw Park, near Wakefield (VC63) up to 1918 and, in an undated record, from Grassington (VC64) (YNU,1970). Garland (1979) also mentions several records from Sheffield around the turn of the century.
Current status (CHF, 2011): Last recorded in 1930. This species is uncommon in mature birch woodland. Populations away from its strongholds in the south-east and in Wales tend to be very local.
