Yorkshire Status: Very rare and very local resident.

This is a rare moth in Yorkshire. Until recently the only previous county records of this species were from Crowle Moors in 1978 and Spurn in 1996. In 2023 a moth appeared in June at Easington (Spurn) at a time of high migrant activity and there were reports of a possible second. In August another moth appeared, presumably from the second brood. The nearest place where this species occurs regularly is North Norfolk.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: This species was caught on Crowle Moor in Lincolnshire in 1978 by Dr R. S. Key but, due to confusion with the County and the vice-county boundaries, it was not added to the Yorkshire list. This area of land is actually just in VC63, so this record is valid for both modern-day Lincolnshire and our demarcation of Yorkshire by the vice-county system.

Recorded in 3 (2%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1978.
Last Recorded in 2023.
