Yorkshire Status: Scarce wanderer, probably in the process of becoming resident.

This southern species has been doing well in recent years and is slowly moving north so it was no great surprise when one was found at Spurn on 17/6/2022. A second moth was found the following year a little further down the peninsula. It is likely that this is the precursor to colonisation so it will be interesting to follow the progress. Take care not to confuse it with the much commoner and widespread Single-dotted Wave.
