Yorkshire Status: Very rare and very local. No recent record.

We still have just one record of this rare moth, taken in the RIS trap at Spurn on 12/8/1969. It is a moth of calcareous grassland and sand dunes. Our moth is likely to have been a wanderer from the Norfolk population, but there is another population not too far from the western edge of VC64 in south Cumbria.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There has only been one Yorkshire record of this rare species. It is usually associated with Breckland, downland or coastal dunes and it was in this last environment it was found in the Rothamsted Insect Survey trap at Spurn (VC61) on 12.8.1969 by B. R. Spence.
