Yorkshire Status: Rare and very local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Formerly confined to the coast in Yorkshire. This species has moved inland slightly to an area in the Wolds but has not been reported recently from the Filey area. There are also some Sheffield records, presumably strays from the Derbyshire limestone areas of VC57.

Beaumont, 2002:

VC61. Flamborough south landing, 1994; Wharram Quarry, 10.7.1995, 30.7.1999 (ASE); North Grimston quarry, 30.7.1996 (MRB).

2012 (CHF): The only records since 2000 have been from the Flamborough area and it seems to have disappeared from some of its old haunts. One at Flamborough on 29.10.2011 was exceptionally late for this species which flies in July and is not known to be bivoltine.

Recorded in 12 (6%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2022.
