Yorkshire Status: Rare and local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Flies during the day in moorland valleys and at a few lowland localities on heaths and mosses.

2012 (CHF): We have three main populations of this day-flying moth; the Yorkshire Dales, the eastern part of the North York Moors and the moors west of Sheffield. There are no recent records from lowland heaths.

Recorded in 44 (22%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1880.
Last Recorded in 2022.
