Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There have been only a few records of this very local species since the 1930s. Although all our sites except Wharfedale are in the south of the County, it has been taken several times in Middleton-in-Teesdale (VC66) on the far bank of the Tees (IF; Dunn & Parrack, 1986). This would suggest it is probably also present locally in the north of our County.
2012 (CHF): This species is often confused with the very similar Common Carpet. The only recent county records are from Spurn; two in 2011 were the first since 2006. It certainly seems to have been resident in the past in south east VC63 but it has not been seen there for some time.
