Yorkshire Status: Scarce and local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widely distributed in woodland where the larvae can be found feeding on wild raspberry. Only slightly attracted to light and not generally found in large numbers.

2012 (CHF): Still widely distributed in lowland woodland but in small numbers. It does come to light (as in all five records in 2011) but is often disturbed in the daytime.

Recorded in 79 (40%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2022.
