Yorkshire Status: Scarce and local resident.

This buckthorn-feeding species is more commoner than Brown Scallop. It may also feed on alder buckthorn (though not proven in Yorshire), and much recent planting of woodland in the county now seems to include one or both of these two species, so this must help. It usually turns up in very low numbers though in areas with a lot of buckthorn such as Nosterfield NR and High Batts NR it has been recorded in double figures. It seems to be doing fairly well in the county and has appeared at some new sites in recent years. In 2019 it turned up at Spurn to take advantage of some recent planting of buckthorn, and it has been seen there every year since.
