Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: This species has only been reported from three sites since the last list (YNU, 1970). Records do not state which subspecies has been found but callunaria (Doubleday) would possibly be expected in these areas of Yorkshire. The larvae may sometimes be found openly on flowers of hawkweeds, knapweed and field scabious (MRB pers. comm.).
2012 (CHF): Rather local in the county from upland grassland and lowland heathy areas. Possibly under-recorded and should be dissected unless you are quite confident about the identification. Often disturbed in the daytime on sunny days. There is no VC61 record.
Argus 69, 2013: Very local in the county. An old record from 2000 has proved to be the first for VC61. VC61. Skipwith Common, 15.7.2000 (HEB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
