Yorkshire Status: Rare and very local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Always a scarce species in Yorkshire, we now have a few more localities.

2012 (CHF): Not the easiest Pug to identify with confidence and usually needs dissection so it might be under-recorded. Most recent records are from the area around Ripon where greater burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella major) grows in profusion. This is likely to be the larval food plant rather than burnet-saxifrage (Pimpinella saxifraga) which is quoted as the food plant in most books and is much more local in this area.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Recorded in 23 (12%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2022.
