Yorkshire Status: Local resident.

Streak is not a common moth in Yorkshire and has a very patchy distribution. It is absent from large parts of the county such as the north-west, but to a certain extent this reflects a lack of its food plant. The paucity of records may be partly due to its late flight time. Most of our recent records have come from areas in the west of VC63, the south-east of VC63, and the east of VC62.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are very few light trap records for this species, possibly due to its relatively late flight period, but larvae can be found in many places where there is plenty of broom, especially in vice-counties 63 and 64. There are few recent records from VC61 where native broom is rather local, and it has been suggested that the lack of records from Skipwith Common may be due to a reduction in the foodplant (SMJ pers. comm.).
