Yorkshire Status: Probable migrant or wanderer.

Grey Carpet is resident in the Brecks of East Anglia and some surrounding areas, the larvae feeding on Flixweed which is a plant needing frequent distubance of soil to persist. The plant does occur in some places in Yorkshire but in smaller quantities. Our only record is from Spurn on 7/6/2022. This will have been a wandering moth or a migrant as the foodplant does not occur here. In 2024 it turned up even further north in Durham - a major surprise.
