Yorkshire Status: Fairly common and widespread resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Often abundant among bracken but may stray far from its food plant. Recorded from all five vice-counties.

2012 (CHF): Common wherever bracken occurs - i.e. all over the county apart from parts of VC61. Often disturbed in the daytime.

Recorded in 165 (83%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2022.
