Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and local resident.

This rather attractive moth of broad-leaved woodland is rather local in the county. It has a distinctive resting position, doing a rather good impression of a crumpled leaf. It has declined a little in recent years. It is only ever seen in small numbers, and over 90% of our records are of single moths. Perhaps it is not strongly attracted to light. It occasionally produced a small second generation - the moths being a little smaller.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Very local, but much more widespread than formerly. Many records are from the Ripon and Harrogate area.
