Yorkshire Status: Very common and widespread resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Occurs locally in wooded areas in all five vice-counties. Occasionally noted as a wanderer in other habitats.
Current status (CHF, 2011): This moth has been lost to central England and is retreating to the uplands, the celtic fringes, and the south-east. There are no recent records from south Yorkshire.
Argus 69, 2013: Whilst this species has disappeared from lowland Yorkshire, it is still doing well in upland woodland. A remarkable 23 were trapped on the YNU outing to Grass Wood in VC64, 7.6.2013.
