Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: A moth of woods and gardens and in some areas, such as the Wolds, almost restricted to the latter habitat (PQW pers. comm.). Recorded frequently in vice-counties 62 to 64 but slightly less in VC61 and VC65 where there is generally less woodland.
2012 (CHF): Continues to be common and widespread with no recent changes in numbers or range.
