Yorkshire Status: Scarce and thinly distributed or restricted resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Now quite widely recorded in vice-counties 62 to 64, but very local in VC61 and there is only one VC65 record.
2012 (CHF): Local but not uncommon in birch woodland in all five vice-counties with an increase in records in recent years. Sometimes disturbed in the daytime.
