Yorkshire Status: Very rare and very local resident.

There have been no records of this species in the county since 1980. There are recent records to our south in Lincolnshire and north Notts, and it not impossible that it still survives in the Doncaster area. In fact we are more likely rediscover this species than the previous one. It should be looked for in open woodland and heathland with plenty of honeysuckle, on sunny days in June in the late morning and early afternoon.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are three recent records of this species in the County. One of these is from the Doncaster area of VC63, where it has long been known to be established (YNU, 1970). The other two records are from new sites. In Yorkshire (and elsewhere in the country) it may feed on snowberry as much as honeysuckle, ova having been found on this plant by A. M. Heron and previously by G. E. Hyde in the Doncaster area (AMRH pers. comm.).
