Yorkshire Status: rare adventive

You won't find this one in the Field Guide. The A,B&H list has it under appendix A (adventive species) and notes "frequently imported with bananas, neotropical". It has occurred twice in Yorkshire. The first was in 1998 when two were found in a fruit packing warehouse at South Elmsall. The second was in December 2003 when one was found crawling over a bunch of bananas purchased from the Harrogate branch of Asda. The full story is given in Atropos September/October 2004 23:60. The moth is now in the national collection.
