Yorkshire Status: Very rare migrant.

This beautiful and scarce migrant is rarely seen in Britain. At the time of the Atlas, there had been just over 25 records, all occurring in coastal areas in the south or east of the country. It has occurred three times in Yorkshire, all at Spurn, on 15/5/2009, 25/5/2018 and 1/6/2018. It is resident just across the channel in France and Belgium. The only species you might mistake it for is Latin, which has not been seen in Yorkshire.
