Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are few recent records for this species in the County. Most are from the south-western Pennines, with one report from the North York Moors. Map 105 in MBGBI 9 shows a record in 10 km square SD99 in VC65 but at present this has not been traced. However it has been taken at several sites on the north side of Teesdale (IF; Dunn & Parrack, 1986), the northernmost boundary of the vice-county.
Beaumont, 2002: VC64. Malham Tarn, most years 1993-1997 (DB).
2012 (CHF): In much of Britain this is a moth of rocky coastal areas. In Yorkshire it is moth of rocky uplands in the west of the county where we receive scattered records in most years in the west of VC64 and 65. Worryingly it has not been seen in VC63 since 1985 or VC62 since 1987.
