Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and fairly widespread resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Recorded from all five vice-counties, but absent from the Wolds and east VC61 (PQW). Locally common in woodland on the edges of moors and heaths but rather occasional elsewhere.

2012 (CHF): The comments from 1989 reflect the current situation exactly.
