Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and thinly distributed or restricted resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: A rather local species in Yorkshire, but more widely recorded in the last few years than for several years previously. The Malham (VC64) and North York Moors (VC62) records suggest this is a relatively common moth on higher ground where woodland occurs. However, there is no VC65 record and no recent one from VC63.
Beaumont, 2002: Although recorded commonly from the North York Moors this moth is less frequent elsewhere. No recent record was available from VC63 in 1989.
Argus 47, 2001-2004: VC65. High Batts, 16.6.1984 (SPW). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
2012 (CHF): Fairly widespread with the biggest numbers in wooded areas of the north and the west of the county. Less common in the south and east.
Recorded in 140 (70%) of 200 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1880. Last Recorded in 2022. Additional Stats
