Yorkshire Status: Very rare and very local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There has been no confirmed Yorkshire record of this species since 1963 (YNU, 1970). Since Skinner's description of this species is, 'Widely distributed, but local, over much of the British Isles' (Skinner, 1984), it is surprising that a county the size of Yorkshire should not have more records. Lorimer (MBGBI 9) says 'apparently more local in the Yorkshire Moors', suggesting that there is more than one record. However the only Yorkshire record shown on the accompanying map would appear to be the one from Bradford (VC63) given in the last list (YNU, 1970).

2012 (CHF): This moth remains very uncommon in the county. There are few verified records. The most recent are from Beamsley in VC64 on 20.6.2007 and Sprotbrough in VC63 on 28.7.2008. This is not always an easy species to identify and can be mistaken for others such as Pale-shouldered Brocade. A good photograph or a specimen is needed in order for the record to be accepted.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
