Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and thinly distributed or restricted resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Probably present at a low population density over much of the County. Only regularly recorded at Wass in VC62 and from the south and centre of the County (VC63 and VC64). Elsewhere it may well be at least a partial immigrant near the coast of vice-counties 61 and 62 and it seems rare in VC65.
2012 (CHF): This species still has rather a patchy distribution being most common in the south and centre of the county. Numbers have increased significantly in the last ten years and it has become bivoltine - two overlapping broods in July and August.
Recorded in 114 (57%) of 200 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1858. Last Recorded in 2022. Additional Stats
