Yorkshire Status: Common and widespread resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: A species of rough grassland. Often plentiful on high ground but also widely recorded in lower areas. Generally common in all five vice-counties.

2012 (CHF): Widespread and common in all upland areas. Sometimes it can be quite abundant, eg 248 in grassland near Malham Tarn on 30.7.2011. Not uncommon in lowland areas but not recorded in such big numbers.

Recorded in 168 (84%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2022.
