Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and very local resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: The only Yorkshire locality for this species is Spurn (VC61) where it seems well established and one or two are taken most years at light (BRS). It might reasonably be expected to also occur on the sandhills at South Gare, Redcar, which is a similar habitat to Spurn in many ways.
Beaumont, 2002: VC62. Redcar, 23.7.1994 (MRB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
2012 (CHF): The colony at Spurn continues to do well with 95 records of 195 moths in 2011. There have been further scattered records at Teesside in 2008 and 9.
Recorded in 6 (3%) of 200 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1874. Last Recorded in 2022. Additional Stats
