Yorkshire Status: Uncommon and thinly distributed or restricted resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Quite widely captured at light but not common. There are relatively few recent records of larvae or pupae, possibly reflecting the heavy emphasis on light traps today.

2012 (CHF): Doing well in oak woodland across the county and often coming to gardens. There are no recent changes in numbers or distribution. Widespread but uncommon in the south of VC63.
