Yorkshire Status: Common and widespread resident.

"Not uncommon and apparently occurs throughout the county" said Porritt in 1907. This is still the case today, though it is less common on the higher ground. This is a willow-feeding species so is commonest in woodland and damp areas, though it is commonly seen in other habitats such as gardens. Counts commonly reach double figures, the maximum being 33 at both High Batts NR on 2/10/2002 and at Bellflask, near Ripon on 2/10/2011. Numbers in Yorkshire are stable. It is usually an easy moth to identify, being a greyer version of Yellow-line Quaker. There is a form suffused with red - f. rufa though this is not common.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Recorded fairly frequently from vice-counties 62-64 and occasionally common. Apparently rather more local in the east of the County.

Recorded in 140 (70%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1846.
Last Recorded in 2024.
