Yorkshire Status: Scarce and local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Now recorded from several sites in Yorkshire, but not recently confirmed from its original sites at Skipwith (VC61) and Strensall (VC62).

2012 (CHF): Like many other reed-feeding moths this species is doing well in the county with a marked expansion in range northwards to Teesside, westwards to Calderdale and north-west to the Ripon area in the last few years. The situation is mirrored in other parts of the country. There is still no record for VC65. It is easy to identify but can be mistaken for the micro Calamotropha paludella. Whilst most records are from reed beds, it does tend to wander to other areas at times.

Argus 66, 2012: With an unprecedented 47 records of 88 moths, there are too many records to list individually. This moth is slowly expanding its range and we now have the first record for VC65. VC65. Nosterfield LNR, 3.8.2012 (CHF, DMS, AJW). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Recorded in 57 (29%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1929.
Last Recorded in 2022.
