Yorkshire Status: Very rare migrant.

We have two records of this scarce migrant. The first is recorded in Rutherford's 1970 list - "only four specimens of this rare migrant have been taken in Britain. One of these was at MV light operated by W. Beck at Knaresborough in 1955." The second was at Durkar (Wakefield) on 30/10/2022. It was initially identified as Golden Twin-spot (a fair assumption as they are tricky to separate) but dissection proved it was this species. There were several records in counties to our south at the time. This is quite an unusual migrant, and the Atlas tells us that up to the end of 2016 there were about 30 British records. It is resident in tropical areas.
