Yorkshire Status: Scarce and thinly distributed or restricted resident.
Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Quite frequently taken from high moorland in vice-counties 62 to 64 but there are only two records from VC65. Some specimens are almost certainly vagrants, inland captures probably coming down from our own moors whilst coastal specimens, such as those at Muston (VC61), may originate from the Continent.
Argus 52, 2006: A big increase in records this year with 35 records of 45 moths. Many records from VC61 were presumably migrants, but an increase of records in inland Yorkshire suggests that some of these might not have been 'home grown'.
2012 (CHF): The migrant year of 2006 was exceptional and since then the normal situation has resumed with about ten records per year, virtually all from upland moorland areas.
