Yorkshire Status: Common and fairly widespread resident.

Fan-foot is a common species over most of the county. It is a moth of woodland, where the larvae feed on withered leaves on the ground, but it often wanders to gardens and other habitats. The population in Yorkshire seems healthy and numbers are stable. Numbers at light are quite often into the 20s and 30s on a good night. Do not confuse this moth with "Common" Fan-foot which does not occur in Yorkshire.
