Yorkshire Status: Rather local resident.

Pheromone lures: VES, VES+HYL, VES+TAB. Mainly on Oaks and other trees in suitable woodland where live stumps left after recent coppicing. The adult flies from late May to August and comes to lure quite readily in the afternoon.

This is another species where use of pheromone lures is showing it to be much more widespread than previously suspected. We now have records from all five vice-counties with moths recorded from VC65 in 2022 and VC62 in 2023.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Scarce and local in Yorkshire. This species had not been recorded since 1952 near Selby (YNU, 1970) until, in 1979, larvae were found in the south-east of VC63. Since then three more sites have been found and the first report confirmed.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.

Recorded in 26 (13%) of 200 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1883.
Last Recorded in 2023.
