Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are old records under this name from vice-counties 62 to 65 but these could equally refer to A. notana (Donovan) which was not distinguished at that time. There is presently no confirmed Yorkshire record.
Beaumont, 2002: In 1989 records under this name were regarded as unconfirmed, particularly as many were recorded as 'among birches'. This moth is reinstated to the Yorkshire list following recent records. VC63. Potteric Carr, 18.10.1998 (RJH); Wintersett Country Park, 19.2.1995, 25.3.1999, 7.10.2000 det.
