Yorkshire Status: Rare and local resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: There are old records under this name from vice-counties 62 to 65 but these could equally refer to A. notana (Donovan) which was not distinguished at that time. There is presently no confirmed Yorkshire record.

Beaumont, 2002: In 1989 records under this name were regarded as unconfirmed, particularly as many were recorded as 'among birches'. This moth is reinstated to the Yorkshire list following recent records. VC63. Potteric Carr, 18.10.1998 (RJH); Wintersett Country Park, 19.2.1995, 25.3.1999, 7.10.2000 det. HEB (PSm, PM et al.); Elland, 18 & 25.11.2000 det. I. Kimber (PT). NEW COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 47, 2001-2004: VC64. Roecliffe, 16.3.2004 det. HEB (D&DB). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 58, 2009: VC65. Hutton Conyers, 21.2.2009 gen. det. (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.

Argus 63, 2011: This oak feeding moth can only be reliably distinguished from the birch feeding A. notana (Donovan) by dissection. In recent years it has proved to be quite widespread and is now recorded from all five vice-counties. VC62. Clay Bank, 13.10.2011 gen. det. (CHF). NEW VICE-COUNTY RECORD.
