Yorkshire Status: Scarce and thinly distributed or restricted resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Widespread and very common throughout all five vice-counties. Moths reared from larvae feeding in a stem of burdock at Denaby Ings in 1977 (Beaumont, 1978b), a hitherto unrecorded foodplant. Larvae of scutulana have been found in burdock stems occasionally since.
