Yorkshire Status: Fairly common resident.

Like all Parornix species, adults are impossible to identify without dissection. It is most often recorded as leaf folds on birch - either at the edge of the leaf or at the tip. These are far commoner on seedlings. Whilst these records are probably safe on the lower ground, records from birch woodland on higher ground in the north and west of the county are probably best regarded as unconfirmed. Parornix loganella makes similar leaf folds and may be commoner than our records suggest.
