Yorkshire Status: Local resident.

This species is well distributed across the county apart from the extreme north and west, but is seen less frequently than the rather similar P. harrisella. Adults can be distinguished from that species by the basal streak. This is another one of the many species which form underside blister mines on oak leaves, in this case the mines being small, with numerous creases, and generally at the edge of a lobe. The appearance however is not sufficiently diagnostic for a firm identification, and moths should be bred out to confirm the identity. We have records from all five vice-counties, though it was not confirmed in VC65 until 2018.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Local and seldom recorded.
