Yorkshire Status: Very common and widespread resident.

This is an extremely common species all across the county and is present in most places where hazel grows. Mines are upper surface silvery oval blotches, and more often than not there are several on a single leaf. These remain quite flat for some time but in the final stage they contract and contort the leaf. If this happens at the leaf edge it can trick the unwary into thinking they have found a fold of Parornix devoniella
