Yorkshire Status: Local resident.

This used to be a very rare moth in the county. Porritt in 1904 could just list it from Everingham, and the next record was not until 1985 at Anston Stones Wood. From about 2015 it became gradually more common, both adults trapped at light, and the distinctive leaf mine at the tip of birch or lime leaves. We now have records from all five vice counties, though it seems to be uncommon in the extreme north and south. The usual food plants are lime (particularly small-leaved lime) and birch, though it is said to also feed on beech and Norway maple. The adults are distinctive, with shining copper wings, a yellowish head, and a white band towards the tips of the antennae.
