Yorkshire Status: Rare and very local resident.

limosipennella = "godwit-winged". You need a good imagination for this one.

This species was only separated from the birch-feeding C. milvipennis in 1970, so a record in Porritt's 1883 list from Ripon can not be substantiated as it does not mention a food plant. This means that our first record is of cases on elm at Sprotborough in 1981. Since then we have had records from several sites in the east of VC63 and a single VC61 record from Grimston Wood. These have all been of larval cases, and the adult has apparently never been seen in the county. Cases can be confused with those of C. badiipennella but are longer (9-11.5mm) with an angle of 0 - 20^o
