Yorkshire Status: Probably extinct. No recent record.

The only record we have of this scarce moth is from Henry Stainton's A Manual of Britain's Butterflies and Moths where he lists six British sites for this moth including "Sc", ie somewhere in the Scarborough district, and this is repeated in all subsequent lists. This is a moth of calcareous grassland, the larvae feeding on knapweeds. All recent records appear to be from the south of the country, so it unlikely that we will see it again.
